An alternative to one to one tutoring…
Small Group Tutoring
Some students prefer to receive support in a small group setting. This might be because they find the attention in a one-to-one session a bit much, because they have friends they enjoy working with who are also looking for a tutor, or they enjoy the interactivity that comes out of a small group of students working together. This is a cost-effective way to receive high-quality support over time, and I can help.
2 different groups are available:
Ongoing support to accompany students during their studies
Once set, these small groups of 2 to 4 students don’t change. Sessions are based on students’ needs. These can be revisiting concepts seen in class but not well understood, selecting topics known to be difficult to practise in more depth, or looking at links and fluency across the curriculum to increase overall understanding across mathematics.
Such groups have recurring lessons either weekly or fortnightly. They can be formed by a group of students wanting to work together, or you can approach me as I may have someone waiting for a suitable group to be created.
Holiday revision groups to prepare for exam or entry in 6th form
During the Easter holiday, May half term and at the end of the summer holiday, revision groups are set up to guide students in their revisions. The groups are formed with students of comparable levels. The sessions include some recap of key topics followed by progressively harder exam practice.
Such groups are limited to 6 students.
