A teacher dedicated to improving the teaching of mathematics

After over a decade working in secondary schools, teaching Y7 to Y13, head of maths in a very successful department and specialising in teaching exam classes (Y11, 12 and 13), I have decided to focus solely on one to one and small group teaching.
During my time serving as a teacher, I also worked with the regional maths hub commissioned by the state to improve the teaching of mathematics across schools. I therefore acted as an advisor across schools in Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire, helping teachers and heads of department.

I am particularly sensitive to students suffering from maths anxiety - a recognised syndrome that affects learners of all abilities, from lower school to A-Level. Small-step teaching is key to helping fight back this anxiety as it allows students to gain confidence and independence in their studies.

I am now available full time and offer 1 to 1 tutoring, group tutoring or holiday revision crash courses to students, as well as consulting and advisory services to maths department who need help improve their teaching.
I love teaching,
I love mathematics,
I love helping others.
